SPORTS MASSAGE

Sports massage is the ideal therapeutic treatment for active people - whether you are an Ironman triathlete or like to spend time toiling in the garden. It can also benefit individuals who suffer from chronic pain and discomfort.

The numerous benefits of sports massage therapy are being increasingly recognised by athletes at all levels as an important addition to their training regime. This is because sports massage therapy can:

  • Improve functionality by reducing muscles tension and adhesions, increasing flexibility and range of motion, and restoring muscle symmetry.

With cyclists and triathletes this can result in better bike positioning, therefore enhancing power, performance and preventing injury.

Other benefits are:

  • Aiding recovery from injury
  • Preventing injury
  • It can improve endurance
  • It can reduce fatigue

Sports massage therapy can also be used:

  • To prepare the body for activity before an event as part of your warm up preparations.
  • To reduce recovery time after an event or training session.

Our Service

We offer a friendly and affordable service in the comfort of your own home. We can also provide massages at your place of work. With a Claymore Sports Massage we can:

  • Treat for pain and discomfort.
  • Improve mobility and functionality.
  • Provide pre-exercise massage to aid preparation.
  • Provide post-exercise massage to aid recovery and reduce fatigue.

We start by discussing your needs and concerns. If necessary, we will carry out assessments and biomechanics screens, before we apply the massage in accordance with the treatment plan we have discussed with you.

We provide a comfortable massage table, towelling and a variety of massage lotions.

Our Sports massage service is available throughout the City of Edinburgh and the Eastern side of West Lothian, such as South Queensferry, Ratho, and Balerno.

All massages are undertaken by a qualified Sports Massage Therapist and Biomechanics Trainer. We are fully insured and trained in First Aid.

Duration

Our minimum massage time is 60 minutes. Any additional massage is done in quarter hour segments of your choosing. At your first massage we will include 30 minutes of additional time, free of charge, to allow us time to introduce ourselves and discuss the treatment plan.

When planning and booking your massage appointment, please allow for 5-10 minutes either side of the massage for us to prepare and finish.
